Bee Day

BeeManiacs Bee Day – April 15, 2017

We are excited to announce that we will host our first BeeManiacs Bee Day on April 15, 2017, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

What is the BeeManiacs Bee Day?

It is certainly an interesting day for beekeepers to stop by BeeManiacs, with many activities happening at the same time…

Package and Nuc Day

We will have hundreds of beekeepers from the region picking up live bees in packages and nucs on that day. If you didn’t order your package or nuc yet, you can do it while supplies last in this link:

Beekeeping Equipment Swap

Beekeepers will be able to sell or buy new or used equipment (no used frames though). It would be a great opportunity for beekeepers to buy and trade certain items from other beekeepers, at a lower price.

Your kids outgrew their bee suits? Do you have books that you don’t read anymore? Need to sell your manual extractor to buy an electric one? No longer keeping bees? If you have any beekeeping equipment, books, tools, protective gear, that you’d like to sell, you can sign up as a vendor and trade directly with other beekeepers.

It’s going to be free for vendors to participate. We have indoor and outdoor areas for vendors, depending on what you need to sell. You just need to fill up a vendor form so we can book a space for you, on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in selling anything at the Swap, you can download and fill up the form from this link. Please contact us with any questions at

Bee Friendly Vendors and Exhibitors

Some nurseries will bring bee friendly plants that grow in this region.

Spokane Conservation district and the Small Farms Program will have booths where you can clear any questions and access information from all their pollinator-related and farming programs.

Instructors and experienced beekeepers from the Backyard Beekeeper Association will be available for answering any bee-related questions.

The list of vendors is growing quickly. Vendors can participate for free (pre-registration required). If you are interested, you can download and fill up the form from this link. Please contact us at if you have questions. Only vendors that pre-register can attend the event.

Backyard Beekeepers Association instructors will be demonstrating different styles of package installation to their Beginning Beekeeping Class students (10 am to noon). They will be installing bees in standard Langstroth equipment, as well as top-bar and Warre hives.
